Keeping Cool?

Tomorrow is our Circus City Days Parade. It's a hugggeee deal. We don't even have any other parades all year - just this one. Weeelllll Some friend's I use to do reenactments with talked me and pony into being "fill ins" for the CIVIL WAR CAV UNIT. No prob I have a makeshift Confederate uniform for that and its not too hot either!
The gut shows up at work with my "uniform" We're doing headless horseman and im ICHABOD :/ My outfit is wool..... ughhhh

Anyways, Im more worried about Koda. Any tips on keeping her cool? Shell just have an English Saddle/Pad/bridle/ and me on her....but it is going to be hot and a few blocks long. Can I do anything to help her stay cool?

When it's really hot out here and I'm going to ride, I sponge B off beforehand. I especially do her neck and chest and between her hind legs. I avoid anywhere the tack is going to sit but it helps a lot and doing it with a sponge rather than hosing her keeps her from looking like she's dripping wet.

I did this and it worked fabulously! Thanks.... I mean she still was hot and sweaty and spooky (She was scared of my partner's costume and the BIG circus wagons. Could care less about clowns, tigers snarling at her, the Indian Drum, or ANYTHING else oye girl.) But it did help, thankyou!
