Barock/Pinto Friesians
#1 | 07-22-2010, 12:00 PM

I've always been a fan of these horses! I adore Friesians, I love black&whites...so natural affinity!

I just saw this father and son for sale: http://www.warmbloods-for-sale.com/H...7&UserID=10239 and his daddy http://www.warmbloods-for-sale.com/H...0&UserID=10239 Sooo~o pretty! But the price tag...ouch!

There's two different "types". It's like traditional purebred Friesian registries...Dutch vs. German. The Barock Pinto (http://tophatfriesians.com/aboutbarockpintos.htm) and the Pinto Friesian Pinto (http://www.barockpintostudbook.com/USA/BPSusa/).

One of the first US painted stallions:

My favourite US stallion

Enjoy!

I was looking at a local friesian stud for awhile to breed to my paint mare. the owner told me to see if my mare was homozygous tobiano before I bred, otherwise I would probably end up with a solid black foal. she said the black genes are so strong in the breed, it's hard to get past it

Pretty horses but whoever named them forgot to look in the dictionary. The word is "baroque."
