New Dog In My Family

I'll post pics when I get the bateries on my Digital Camera re-charged. Anyhow, I got a new dog. I just adopted her and she is the most adorable thing ever.

Last Friday, I was at the Salon "Lucky Pennies" where I am getting my Grooming Ticket, and that was where I found out about this little one needing to find a new home.

She is a 7 month old Shih-tzu X Yorkshier Terrier female and just a little sprout at that. The previous owners both worked and never had time for her. She was tied up outside or locked up in her kennel and their larger dog just never meshed with her well at all.

So this little dog came to the salon and I fell in love with her. She was heading to the S.P.C.A (Animal Shelter in Canada) and I said "Don't bother, I am taking her". And VOILA, here she is.

They paid $400.00 and bought her from a "Puppy Mill" and were going to drop her off at the S.P.C.A. They didn't even know what breed she was, neither did the "Breeders" themselves.

This little one is adorable.

We named her Dory (just like Dory from Finding Nemo) and she has meshed right well with the family and the other 3 dogs, Duddly, Teesee and Roxy.

Ok, well the long wait is over *yeah right*! Anyhow, LOL, here is the cutie patootie named Dory. She is so adorable!! She comes to school with me everyday and has a spaz everytime I leave without her. She is so attached to me, it's adorable!! She's my little girl!!

Thanks guys, I have just fallen in love with this little one, she is so well behaved and so bloody adorable!! She follows me everywhere and comes to the Salon with my everyday. She gets along with all the other girls and my teacher that she is a welcomed addition to the group.

She is asleep at my feet right now, snoring away. ADORABLE!

Only, one thing has happened. The previous owner, called me the other day and told me they want $$ for her now. After they told me they were giving her away, wanting a good home for her and were going to drop her off at the S.P.C.A...they want money now. They asked for $130.00 and told me that if I was going to adopt from the S.P.C.A, I'd have to pay that anyhow.

I was totally thrown aback and had no idea what to say.

I am not a confontational person, and hate making people angry....so, I said that I'd pay her the $$. She had been with me for almost a week and then this. She's already attached to me and I am attached to her. How unfair I think.

I told this to the girls at work, and even they said that she NEVER said she wanted money for her. I have no idea what to do.

Well, just wanted to share that with you all.

She gave you the dog, it's your dog, period. She didn't say "oh the dog is 130," she just said that you could have her. Then the dog is rightfuly yours.

That is pretty dumb! If she was planning on surrendering the dog to the SPCA she wouldn't have gotten a dime! I guess she figured just maybe she could make a buck or two on her. Sorry this happened to you. The lady doesn't deserve a penny IMO. When someone GIVES you something it is no longer theirs, it is completely yours, which gives YOU say over anything that happens to it.

I totally appreciate your support guys, and I agree. I was really thrown aback when she called and told me about the money.

If I was to adopt a dog from the S.P.C.A, yes, I'd have to pay the $130.00.....BUT, that is the cost of spaying. When you adopt a dog from them that isn't neutered or spayed, they give you the certificate to take to the Vet Clinic, give it to them and they'll fix your pet. That is what you are paying for when you adopt a dog from the S.P.C.A.

Anyhow, Dory isn't fixed and I want to tell her that. I cannot afford $130.00 right now and then pay that AGAIN to get her fixed *which she is going to have happen to her*.

This sucks, I don't know what to do. I told all the girls at the salon about this and they are right put out about it as well. They are ready to call her and tear a strip off of her about this whole thing...but I said no. I am a "people pleaser" and I hate confrontation, and I don't like making people upset at me.

I'll just sick Debbi on her!! LOL!!! Where's your commando Debbi!! GO GET EM!!

Ok, where is she, let me get my camo gear on and my bullet proof vest..grab my brass knuckles and tire iron..I'll whip some candy ass!!! grrrr:mad: Picken on my Kimmy..I'll straight up stomp a mudhole big as Missouri right up her butt!! Make her come and flippin try to get that puppy..does she have anything saying that she has ownership of it and she did not relinquish ownership? ARGGGHHH, these kinda people make me mad, everybody is out to make a buck and don't care about the welfare of the animal..Just cmon down here and bring all the puppies with ya and big old boob Adelarde with ya as well and I WILL HIDE YA OUT!
