Great ride all week, except for the last one. This was going to good..Extension Great, Laterals good, trot work good, cantoring was going great until she broke into a trot unexpectantly and if she does that she land on her forehand and if you are not expecting it than she throws u forward and forward i went on to the ground on my rear-end... she has never broke like that and I was not prepared and off I went....How many times am I going to hear deeper in the seat until I get it.......................on the downward transition... beginning to wonder if I am going to be ready for spring and 1st level... Sorry needed to spout off.

Sorry that you got unbalanced and out you went in the saddle. At least you weren't hurt and thank goodness it wasn't a diliberate Buck you out of the saddle.

How does she go so heavy on the forehand causing you to come out of the saddle like that? I don't understand what is happening.

When you are in the canter, what is your seat like? You should beable to down transition from a Canter to a Trot without loosing your balance in the saddle -

Lengthen your legs, think tall, breathe out and push your tailbone under you when you do a down transition.

What is your seat like when cantering?

I hope your future rides get better - things can only improve.

So when you feel her about to break, can you not close your legs and push her back up?

Cantor position is good, but if she brakes, has never happen to me before she really goes on the for hand and I was no expecting it and I guess I was not sitting far enough back and I lead forward because of the hard transition and landed in my rear end.... it really was kind of funny.......I just got back up and did it all over again and this time sat deeper and leg her more to keep moing forward....

I am really jusy getting back to riding as i broke my arm 2 yrs ago and I sold my horse who was a ass. He bolted for not reason...so now I bought a 3 yr old who is just aa dream and honest for a 3 yr old I will be bring him out in the spring to show. The real plan was to buy a school master, but this guy is just wonderful and I know the breeder who raised him and the trainer who broke him. He come from a good sire and a good dam. so far I will play with him and get on him and walk him around and hack him around. He is not a spook or nothig. Took him to Hendersonvile to show him in intro there was a airport aross the street, he did not care about on bit..I know he is going to be a good horse. I am taking my time with him and letting him grow up......

Sorry I have been out of town. Then we had clinics after the holidays. I am in Georgia. I showed intro last year and was and won first and seconds. I will be moving up to training level this year. Things have been going better riding thanks for reminding me to sit tall and lengthen legs that is the key... Hope everyone had good holidays..:)

Hi Tami

If its okay to ask; how much work are you doing with your three year old?
