I am looking at this idea for our horse park. What I have googled and read is very exciting.
Has any one ever done one?
What were your obsticals and did you have fun?
My big question is what did you pay? Price is a real issue. I dont want to over price this but at the same time we need to make a timy bit of money and cover costs. All the money goes back into the maintenence of the park.
You thoughts on this would be great. I have not seen or heardof one of these in BC yet so I am very interested in this.

Check Craigslist! Free items...logs, lumber etc. With spare stuff you can make all sorts of obstacles. For bridges you can use 2x4 laid on the ground with thick sheets of plywood over the top for the "clomping" sounds. Logs set up to step over etc. Old railroad ties are great for making platforms to step up on. Very thick and strong...will hold a horse no problem. Use old wooden fence posts to outline a narrow path for working on keeping the horses feet where you want them while going forward and back ward through them.
You are only limited by your imagination. Even check with some construction site where they are repairing large pipe or culverts....may have a piece of large pipe you can kind of bury a little in the ground to ride your horse through as a tunnel.

hi billy - we have all the supplies already. Being a cross country training facility we already have the water hazard and all the wood and brush hazards needed. we have gates and all that stuff. But there was a site I found in California that actually hold Trail Events and it has peeked my interest. I want to hold one but I have never been to one and need all the info I can find.
